Day-by-day plan
Day 1Arrive Srinagar
Pickup, check in, and an evening shikara ride on the Dal when the light is best.
Day 2Srinagar gardens
Nishat, Shalimar and the old city. Back at the hotel by mid-afternoon.
Day 3Gulmarg
Day trip with pre-booked gondola. Warm layers matter more than you think, even in June.
Day 4Pahalgam
Drive via the saffron fields and Awantipora ruins. Afternoon free by the Lidder.
Day 5Pahalgam to Srinagar, houseboat night
Back to Srinagar by lunch. Night on a traditional houseboat.
Day 6Departure
Transfer to Srinagar airport. Security there is slow — we leave early and say so upfront.
